Pantone's 2017 Color of the Year is Greenery, and I'm so excited about it. Green is the color of life, energy, and health. Why wouldn't I want to bring such good vibes in your homes?! The reason Pantone chose this color to represent 2017 is one that I think we all (especially in the United States) can resonate with...
This holiday season reminded me how easy it is to become disorganized. I did the typical mom-thing back in the day and bought stackable totes and baskets of various sizes.
Do they work? Not for my rough-and-tumble family!
I almost need an organizer for my organizers. The baskets fall askew on the floor. The totes get misplaced and mislabeled. It's just a mess.
That's why I finally opted for prettier and more permanent storage, from traditional cabinetry to open-faced shelving.
Last-minute touches are often the most creative. Your flurried and haphazards holiday brain is running off cocoa and sugar cookies at this point, and you admit you aren't thinking clearly. Through the eggnog-induced fog, you sense that your home needs one final, SPECIAL touch before your in-laws walk through the door.
Do you love your home but wish it had just a LITTLE BIT MORE square footage? While you could go the traditional route of getting an addition, why not do a loft instead? If you have vaulted ceilings anywhere in your home, added a partial loft is completely possible. Get a new bedroom, office, game room, or library simply by repurposing the space you already have.
Here are the top 10 lofts I'm crushing on this month:
Aren't they gorgeous?

If you're like me, you greet the holiday season with mixed emotions. On one hand, I love the hustle and bustle of family, friends, and other festivities.
BUT... (and that's a big but) I have a hard enough time getting supper on the table sans-holiday with kids heading in three different directions, an interior design firm to run, and a dog that likes to sleep in the *middle* of my kitchen. With the holidays about to begin, I'm supposed to cook and bake in double-time, and smile about it!
