Last-minute touches are often the most creative. Your flurried and haphazards holiday brain is running off cocoa and sugar cookies at this point, and you admit you aren't thinking clearly. Through the eggnog-induced fog, you sense that your home needs one final, SPECIAL touch before your in-laws walk through the door.

Granted, they've walked through that door a MILLION times, but it's not to late to make a good first impression. Your table is gorgeously set, your guest room is prepared, and your front door is the only place that isn't decked from halls to walls.

Here are 3 of my favorite holiday wreaths to complete your home's look this season.

They wear well into January and--hurray!--they aren't completely DIY. Instead, buy a plain Jane wreath from Walmart or Hobby Lobby and add your favorite fixings.

#1 | The Foodie

This wreath is pretty enough to eat and speaks to an elegant Christmas celebration of years past.

What you'll need:

  • A plain wreath
  • Cinnamon sticks
  • Small-medium pinecones
  • Twine or decorative string
  • Dried orange slices
  • Holly sprigs

#2 | The Traditionalist

Pared down but still just as elegant, this wreath puts the focus on jumbo-sized pinecones and just a smattering of red berries. The bold red ribbon is a stylish way to hang it from your door knocker.

What you'll need:

  • A plain wreath
  • Small, medium, and jumbo pinecones (frosted or glittered, if possible)
  • Holly sprigs
  • Thick, red ribbon

#3 | The Snowbird

For the warm-weather lover who can't bear to part with florals (and can you blame them?), this wreath is the perfect way to welcome your visitors. Add dried or fake blossoms to simple greenery like eucalyptus or holly.

What you'll need:

  • Plain wreath of appropriate greenery (or a wreath frame that you can put your own greenery on)
  • Faux blossoms (Hobby Lobby has amazing choices!)
  • Extra greenery to fill in the gaps
